Nurses opt to be recruited by Nursing Agencies the entire time because they lack the financial strength to foot the bills that comes with the Licensure Process. The moment they are turned down by these Agencies they put an end to their American dream, this shouldn’t be so. Indeed it can be real overwhelming what is expected of you financially.

There is also the fear of a wasteful investment, thoughts like “what if I fail the NCLEX after all these, what if I get stuck in the process” first off, get that thought off your head, Champions don’t nurse such thoughts!!! Aside all these I am confident you will PASS, there isn’t another alternative, but to PASS!!! Now that we are done with the negative thoughts that pop in from time to time, lets deal with financing your licensure. How I go about this with my protégés is to first tell them the estimated cost of the entire licensure process from start to finish (Knowledge is Power) and then i try to make a plan of how they can incorporate such bills into their financial budget for each month in relation to how much time they are willing to give in to the process before the exam itself. This way we draw a plan that is unique to that individual, created out of their financial strength and also their intended time line for the whole process. we solve the problem half way by this, because we have identified the shortcoming, we have our objective already, we have put out a plan to solve this and all we have left is to execute and give room for pre evaluation if this don’t go as planned due to some unforeseen circumstances, so we can strategize again.

I made mistakes during my time, threw money in areas I shouldn’t have because I had not the slightest idea how to go about certain things, information was scarce, virtually all nurses that I knew were under nursing recruitment agencies, so I did a lot of trial and error. I will be compiling a list of the cost of the process borne out of my personal experience and other USRNs who sponsored themselves too. Mind you, this is subject to change anytime, as costs could be influenced by time.
